The Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC), Colby College, and Thomas College are proud to announce the upcoming 2024 Elm City Classic Youth Day! The thrilling game between the two local colleges is set to take place at Coombs Baseball Field on April 2. This event aims to inspire and engage young athletes from the local community, fostering a love for the game and encouraging active participation in sports.
Scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, at Colby College Baseball & Softball Complex, the Elm City Classic Youth Day festivities will feature an exciting lineup of activities for youth to be involved. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s colors, blue & white for the Colby Mules or red & black for the Thomas Terriers! Youth baseball and softball athletes are invited to be on the field during the National Anthem. Collegiate athletes and Coaches will be available to sign autographs after the game is wrapped up.
“It’s so fun to bring together area youth athletes with collegiate athletes in our community and to share our passion for the games,” said Beth LaFountain, AYCC Athletic Director. “We are so fortunate to have two colleges in town to help inspire the next generation.”
All local youth baseball and softball players are invited to join in the fun and cheer on both teams as they take on their cross-town rivals. Admission to the game is free, making this an affordable and enjoyable outing for families.
